So happy to have been asked to shoot Amy & Cody’s wedding with the talented and lovely Anna Briggs of Anna Briggs Photography. This February fairytale took place at the beautiful Willowdale Estate in Topsfield, MA. Amy & Cody are such a sweet couple. Their adoration for each other is quite obvious and inspiring. Come check out some of my shots of the day…
The day started with lots of prepping and primping… on the ladies’ part.
And as usual, the men’s start was a bit different.
Amy and Cody wrote love notes to each other. Along with her note, Amy received beautiful roses from the groomsmen… so sweet.
Amy was so excited to read her love note. It was exciting to watch her open it! Smiles from ear to ear and then serious emotions.
This is one of my favorite shots of the day:
I love being a photographer because I get to watch and stare at people with good reason, I need to document!
So I got to study Cody here a bit without getting annoyed looks from him. In a room full of noisy men, Cody sat in the corner and silently read his love note. I could tell he was taking it all in and reading every word. Of course, I was dying to know what these notes said, but that would be crossing the documenting line!
And the chuckling at the end REALLY got me curious!

Then it was time for the dressing! It took a small army to help Amy with her wedding dress.
She had five bridesmaids, her Mom AND her sister-in-law to help back there! The gown came in two pieces, beautiful and unique.
Thank goodness for helpful bridesmaids! This went on for quite a while and the excitement of the day was starting to build.
And of course, I wasn’t there for the putting on of the pants, so this was the extent of Cody’s dressing I captured… though, I do believe I witnessed the men helping each other out with the cuff links.
Amy and Cody decided to do a first look before the ceremony. They were so excited to see each other.
I swear, I think Anna and I were just as excited to watch them see each other for the first time. Here you’ll start to witness their adoration for each other.
Here again, I’m dying to know what he’s whispering in her ear… oh like you’re not wondering!

Love, youth & beauty… can you stand it?
They were troopers out in that snow… it was a sunny day but let me tell you it wasn’t warm!
Willowdale is a beautiful estate, unfortunately because of the snow all over the grounds, we were limited in our shooting outside. But, you can still see some of the details on the grounds here.
Inside the bridal suite, there was a gorgeous bath we just had to get some shots in. The light coming in was perfect too.

They picked a fun bunch to surround themselves with.
Time for the ceremony. Amy was walked down the aisle by her Mom & Dad.
Cody read Amy a poem and Amy sang Cody a song. They really put so much of themselves into their ceremony.

And if it looks like they’re always having fun, well they certainly were this night!
First dance surrounded by great family and friends.
And finally, as I was scanning the dance floor from the balcony, I see the bride and groom and both families, singing, dancing and holding each other… what a perfect gift to watch and document!
